DEEP-CLEAN AND FRESHEN YOUR MATTRESS USING ONE INGREDIENT ONLY

According to a study by scientists from the Ohio University, there are up to 10 million dust particles and approximately the same amount of bed mites inside our mattresses. Although both are highly allergenic, bed mites are particularly harmful to our health as their feces irritate not only our skin, but our lungs too.
HOW CAN YOU DEEP-CLEAN YOUR MATTRESS?

There’s a simple method for deep-cleaning and refreshing your mattress using the most common kitchen ingredient – baking soda.
After you remove the linen, sprinkle baking soda over the entire mattress. This is much easier if you use a sieve.  Optionally, you can add a few drops of lavender oil to improve the scent.
Leave the baking soda to act for a few hours before vacuuming it up. Use the hose end of your vacuum and an upholstery attachment to thoroughly vacuum the mattress. Take your time when vacuuming as the more slowly you move, the more efficiently you remove the dust from inside. What baking soda does is remove all moisture and deep dirtiness from the mattress. In addition the lavender essential oil deodorizes and leaves the mattress smelling fresh and clean.
Alternatively, you can clean your mattress using a steam device too. The advantage of steam cleaning is that it also removes hard stains apart from disinfecting the area.
Finally, make sure you don’t put the bed sheets on before the mattress is completely dry.
